Chasing Waterfalls - Be the First! December 16- December 29, 2027 

Day 1

Hello Dominica & Welcome Dinner

Arrive at Douglas Charles Airport where your transport driver will be waiting for you. Sit back and enjoy the ride around the north coast on this scenic drive to your hotel. Settle in, unpack & explore the surrounding area before you meet your fellow explorers at the welcome dinner later tonight.

Day 2

Fort Shirley & Horse Back Riding

Learn about the history within the walls of Fort Shirley, an old garrison built in the 18^th century where many revolts took place over control of the island and fights for freedom. Leaving Fort Shirley, we will mount our horses and go for a ride in Prince Rupert Bay where you will enjoy the warm tropical ocean waters and the peaceful scenic views. A tasty lunch at a locally owned restaurant with beach-front views is next up on our agenda of adventures for today at Douglas Bay. Don’t forget your bathing suit!

Day 3

Victoria Falls & Rum

Today we visit a local rum distillery and learn how it is made using sustainable practices. We will also gain an understanding of the importance of Sea Turtle Conservation and how this distillery is helping to contribute to that endeavor. Next, as we head over to the eco-lodge where we will be spending the next 3 nights, we'll gear up in zip-lining equipment and begin our trek to a remote part of the east coast. Dinner will be served around 7pm, so there will be plenty of time to visit Flockey's waterfall for a nice river swim.

Day 4

Sari Sari & Sustainability

Start your day with the birds singing all around you and a refreshing morning dip in the river before breakfast. Our adventure starts with a hike to Sari Sari Falls, a 250-foot waterfall located in LaPlaine. This hike will take approximately 3 hours to complete. We'll be hiking along a river so, stop and swim whenever you wish. After Sari Sari, we'll stop for lunch on the beach before zip-lining back to the eco- Lodge. Once back at the lodge, you can join the sustainability discussion led by the award winning owner of the lodge and discover the best eco-friendly practices for building in the rainforest.

Day 5

Victoria Falls & Zion Valley 

Start the day in the beautiful Zion Valley where our guide will take us to the amazing Victoria Falls. Go for a swim in the river before we head back to our Ital lunch in the rainforest at the Rastarant. After lunch we will enjoy a guided walk through a delightful herbal garden where we will learn about the traditional remedies and medicines provided by the land.

Day 6

Chocolate Bars & Emerald Pool

Before breakfast, opt to attend the early morning Coconuts in the Forest hike to Three Rivers Falls for a refreshing start to your day! After our last breakfast at the eco-lodge, we begin our trip back to Picard. On the way, we'll go to a chocolate making class while learning a little bit about gin distilling and wood carving in Delice. After, we'll stop at Emerald Pool for a relaxing soak in the grotto-esqe pool.

Day 7

Bwa Nef, Red Rocks & Cold Soufriere

Start the day with an invigorating 20-minute hike to one of the more secluded yet awe inspiring waterfalls on Dominica, Bwa Nef. Next we'll stop at Red Rocks, an amazing other worldly experience that feels like you just stepped onto Mars! These oxidized geological formations that protrude into the ocean also have caves that you can explore, so make sure not to miss this! After Red Rocks, we'll take the scenic ride around Vielle Case, stopping at Cold Soufriere, Canna Heritage Park, Toucari Bay and lunch at Keepin' It Real.

Day 8

Canyoning & Mineral Pools

Today we are heading to Fond Cani for an exciting canyoning adventure. Discover your inner adventurer far beneath the sunlit canopy of the rainforest. Don’t Worry, canyoning is for any level of experience, even if you have never done it before, you’ll be in good hands with licensed professional canyoning guides. After half a day of canyoning, sit back and relax with a local lunch and a dip in the warm mineral pools that will soothe your muscles after the day’s adventure.

Day 9

River Tubing, Spannys & Soltan Falls

After Breakfast, experience the rainforest from another viewpoint by gliding down the Pagua River. Get on your inner tube, drink in hand, and let’s go! Don’t forget your waterproof camera! After our tubing experience, we will visit a couple of easy-to-get-to waterfalls  including Spanny Falls, Jaco Falls & Soltan Falls. Decide on your favorite- I'll tell you mine is Soltan!

Day 10

Whales, Dolphins & Beaches

Sperm Whales reside off Dominica shores all year long and today you’re going to try to spot at least one. You may also see humpback whales, Pilot Whales, Pantropical Spotted Dolphins and Bottlenose Dolphins just to name a few. Don’t forget the fish! Keep your eye out for the many fish that also reside here such as Yellowfin, Marlin and Tarpon. Some very large fish have been caught in these waters by local village fisherman. Next up for today we are going to relax at the beach and enjoy the glistening calm Caribbean Sea. Swim, soak up the sun… or both! There will also be two beach bars nearby for refreshments and snacks.

Day 11

Permaculture, Syndicate & Milton Falls

This morning we are headed to Syndicate Nature Trail to look for the endemic Sisserou Parrot. They only live on Dominica and there are not very many of them left, so if you find one, you should feel very lucky! Next, we will learn how permaculture helps in sustainable land management and how natural ecosystems help guide farming practices. A perfect ending to this very special day will be a tasty lunch at Zion Restaurant before a short walk to view Milton Falls.

Day 12

Middleham, TiTou Gorge & Rum

Today we’re going to the Morne Trois Piton National Park which also happens to be a UNESCO World Heritage site. Lush tropical vegetation surrounds you on this invigorating hike to Middleham Falls. This is the tallest waterfall on the island at an impressive 270 ft. The hike will take us through dense rainforest and muddy trails so be sure to pack your dirtiest hiking shoes.  After the hike, we will enjoy a locally prepared lunch with a bush rum tasting. Next we'll explore TiTou Gorge and swim in the same location where a scene from Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed. We'll finish our day in a relaxing warm mineral pool in the village of Wotton Waven, where you can enjoy some of the geothermal gifts Dominica has to offer. It’s a spa day in nature!

Day 13

Indian River, Portsmouth & Douglas Bay

After breakfast on the beach, we will take a rowboat ride up the Indian River to a rainforest Bush Bar. Have a drink, have a snack & soak in the sounds of the rainforest before heading back to town. The rest of the day will be free to explore Portsmouth, browse for souvenirs, try tasty dishes at nearby restaurants, or relax & swim at the beach. Spend your time however you want and enjoy your last day, your way. Later, we will go back to the hotel to get ready for our farewell dinner.

Goodbye Dominica!

Today concludes our time together but hopefully you come back soon to enjoy another one of our tours and discover more hidden gems in Dominica!

CHANGES AND CANCELLATIONS

Changes by Participants

Since changes are considered canceled services, additional cancellation penalties may apply. Changes are subject to additional hotel charges based on availability and may incur additional fees. Changes to airfare are subject to the carrier’s Terms and Conditions and are not the obligation of FFCT. 

If you are unable to complete the tour due to an inability to maintain the speed necessary to keep up with the tour group of participants, or due to any physical limitation, there shall be no refunds owed if you are unable or prevented from completing the tour. 

Cancellation

As described above, FFCT is required to pay certain suppliers well in advance of your tour date.  This includes but is not limited to hotel accommodations, meals, entrance fees, transportation, etc. All suppliers have their own cancellation policies, which apply to your booking.  Should a cancellation become necessary, please inform FFCT immediately in writing and request a written confirmation of your cancellation. Upon receipt, FFCT will follow industry procedures for any applicable refunds as outlined in our terms and conditions.

In addition to the terms of our suppliers, refunds for any monies paid to FFCT will be refundable for cancellations per the cancellation table below, less any non-refundable payments/deposits made to FFCT.  Also deducted from the net refundable amount will be any adjustments for room rate changes created by the cancellation (i.e., double to single, etc.) NO REFUNDS, for any reason, will be paid for cancellations received 60 days or less from the departure date.

Since FFCT will pay certain deposits and costs to suppliers prior to the date of travel, FFCT will assess the following cancellation charges as follows:

If the reason for cancellation is covered under the terms of your travel protection plan you may be able to reclaim these charges, for this reason FFCT requires the purchase of a travel protection plan including additional “cancel for any reason” coverage.

Airline tickets are governed by the air carriers’ terms, and we are not responsible for any air carrier’s decision regarding refund.

Cancellation or Changes by FFCT

We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule any departure for any reason. If we cancel, except in the case of a force majeure event, we will offer alternate arrangements.  We may at our sole discretion offer travel vouchers or refunds in accordance with the cancellation schedule above.  Participants are responsible for any additional costs for air tickets or other travel arrangements not made by us.

If between planning time and/or during actual travel, circumstances require changes, FFCT and its suppliers, reserve the right to cancel or vary any itinerary and substitute components of any tour, including but not limited to hotels and accommodations of comparable quality, if air schedule or surface transportation charges, security matters, and/or other events make such alterations necessary. Suppliers may substitute transportation equipment depending on any variety of factors, including the volume of passengers on the tour. FFCT cannot be held responsible for any closures, necessary itinerary changes, or curtails for any reason. These changes will not be considered material changes and will not be considered cause for cancellation by the participant. Normal cancellation penalties still apply to the tour that has been changed.

NO REFUND FOR UNUSED ARRANGEMENTS.  As FFCT prices are based on contract rates, there will not be any refund for any unused portion of a travel booking. If you cancel while the tour is in progress, there is no refund for the unused portion.
