Segment 5 is a relatively flat and easy hike that will take approximately 3 hours to arrive at the Emerald pool (We will only be hiking half of it since it is a 6–7-hour hike if fully completed). Cool off under the impressive 40 ft. waterfall or relax on the deck and listen to the sounds of the rainforest. Next, we are going to the village of Salisbury for a unique visit to a Bee Apiary. We will learn all about Bee’s, how they are cared for, how to handle them properly, how to increase their hive populations and how they help us in the production of food and resources. We will learn how they help to create and produce things such as lip balm, candles, deodorant and of course... Honey!

Next, you’ll find yourself gliding down the Pagua River on an inner tube listening to the tropical sounds of the rainforest. Don’t forget your water camera! Our day begins with an exciting canyoning adventure. Discover your inner explorer far beneath the sunlit canopy of the rainforest. Don’t Worry, canyoning is for any level of experience, even if you have never done it before, you’ll be in good hands with licensed professional canyoning guides. After half a day of canyoning, we will sit back, relax and chat over a local lunch with a bush rum tasting. Day 5
Segment 10, Permaculture & Milton Falls
The Waitukubuli Trail is made up of 14 segments and today we are hiking segment 10. This segment begins in Colihaut Heights and ends at Syndicate. This makes for a perfect day of hiking on the heavily forested trail where we can spot the Sisserou and Jaco Parrots. Both of the parrots are endemic to Dominica, while the Sisserou (Amazona Imperialis) is on the endangered species list. Later we will go to a farm that specializes in permaculture. We will learn how it helps in sustainable land management and natural ecosystems that guide farming practices. A perfect ending to this very special day will be an easy walk to view Milton Falls in Syndicate.

Day 6
Jaco Steps & Spanny Falls
Step back in time as you walk through Jaco Flats, an encampment of historic importance. This encampment was built by Jaco in order to help lead other escaped slaves to freedom. The Maroons used this area to hide from British soldiers during the mid-18th century. Once you reach the bottom of the steps, jump into the river and admire the beautiful nature around you. Next, we will have lunch before visiting Spanny Falls, an easy-to-access waterfall surrounded by lush vegetation in the heart of the rainforest.
Breakfast-Dinner Included
Day 7
Kayak, Snorkel & Beach Cookout
A southwest scenic drive takes us to the southern tip of Dominica. Scotts Head, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Caribbean Sea, sits over the Soufriere Marine Reserve. This lookout point will give you a 360-degree view of the southern mountains, Scotts Head village, the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. Next, we will get ready for our kayaking adventure which will take us to a quiet little beach for a fish cookout and a bit of snorkeling where we can see all the colorful fish.

Day 8
Middleham, TiTou Gorge & Trafalgar
Today we will go to the Morne Trois Piton National Park which also happens to be a UNESCO World Heritage site. Lush tropical vegetation surrounds you on this invigorating hike to Middleham Falls. This is the tallest waterfall on the island at an impressive 270 ft. The hike will take us through dense rainforest and muddy trails so be sure to pack your dirtiest hiking shoes. Once at Ti Tou Gorge, you will swim in the same location where Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed. Next, we’ll visit Trafalgar Falls, also known as mama & papa falls. The tallest waterfall on the left is “papa” at 125 ft. and the one on the right is “mama” at 75 ft. Take your shoes off and relax in the river before we head back to Picard for dinner.

If you are unable to complete the tour due to an inability to maintain the speed necessary to keep up with the tour group of participants, or due to any physical limitation, there shall be no refunds owed if you are unable or prevented from completing the tour.
Cancellation
As described above, FFCT is required to pay certain suppliers well in advance of your tour date. This includes but is not limited to hotel accommodations, meals, entrance fees, transportation, etc. All suppliers have their own cancellation policies, which apply to your booking. Should a cancellation become necessary, please inform FFCT immediately in writing and request a written confirmation of your cancellation. Upon receipt, FFCT will follow industry procedures for any applicable refunds as outlined in the supplier’s terms and conditions and subject to their review. If you are entitled to a refund, please note that the supplier is responsible for this refund, not FFCT. Likewise, we are not responsible for a supplier’s failure to pay a refund, their insolvency or bankruptcy.
In addition to the terms of our suppliers, refunds for any monies paid to FFCT will be refundable for cancellations per the cancellation table below, less any non-refundable payments/deposits made by FFCT to our Suppliers. Also deducted from the net refundable amount will be any adjustments for room rate changes created by the cancellation (i.e., double to single, etc.) NO REFUNDS, for any reason will be paid for cancellations received 45 days or less from the departure date.
Since FFCT will pay certain deposits and costs to suppliers prior to the date of travel, FFCT will assess the following cancellation charges as follows:
Relevant Cancellation Times | Cancellation Charge Per Person |
61+ days | 100% refund, less non-refundable deposit |
46 to 60 days | 50% refund, less non-refundable deposit |
45 days or less | No refund |
If the reason for cancellation is covered under the terms of your travel protection plan you may be able to reclaim these charges, for this reason FFCT requires the purchase of a travel protection plan including additional “cancel for any reason” coverage.
Airline tickets are governed by the air carriers’ terms, and we are not responsible for any air carrier’s decision regarding refund.
Cancellation or Changes by FFCT
We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule any departure for any reason. If we cancel, except in the case of a force majeure event, we will offer alternate arrangements. We may at our sole discretion offer travel vouchers or refunds in accordance with the cancellation schedule above. Participants are responsible for any additional costs for air tickets or other travel arrangements not made by us.
If between planning time and/or during actual travel, circumstances require changes, FFCT and its suppliers, reserve the right to cancel or vary any itinerary and substitute components of any tour, including but not limited to hotels and accommodations of comparable quality, if air schedule or surface transportation charges, security matters, and/or other events make such alterations necessary. Suppliers may substitute transportation equipment depending on any variety of factors, including the volume of passengers on the tour. FFCT cannot be held responsible for any closures, necessary itinerary changes, or curtails for any reason. These changes will not be considered material changes and will not be considered cause for cancellation by the participant. Normal cancellation penalties still apply to the tour that has been changed.
NO REFUND FOR UNUSED ARRANGEMENTS. As FFCT prices are based on contract rates, there will not be any refund for any unused portion of a travel booking. If you cancel while the tour is in progress, there is no refund for the unused portion.
