Rainforest Adventures -
This tour will take you through verdant & Jurassic looking rainforests in Dominica. The hikes are easy to moderate and are a good fit for anyone who enjoys nature, flora and fauna. You will spend time getting to know locals, learning another culture, tasting new food and hearing new music. This tour brings you into the heart of Dominica, it allows you to walk in the footsteps of history and connect to nature. Day 1: Hello Dominica & Welcome Dinner
Arrive at Douglas Charles Airport where your transport driver will be waiting for you. Enjoy a scenic drive around the north coast as you are transported to your hotel. Sip on a tropical refreshing drink while you are escorted to your apartment. Settle in and explore the surrounding area before meeting your fellow travelers at your welcome dinner this evening. Day 2: Segment 5 Hike, Emerald Pool & Honeybee’s
Grab your snacks and let’s set out on a journey through the rainforest on the Waitukubuli Trail. Segment 5 is a relatively flat and easy hike that will take approximately 3 hours to arrive at the Emerald pool. This part of the trail is an easy hike that starts in Pont Casse (We will only be hiking half of it since it is a 6–7-hour hike if fully completed) After arriving at the Emerald Pool, you’ll be able to swim in the invigorating pool under the impressive 40 ft. Waterfall. Relax on the deck, listen to the sounds of the forest and check out the tropical plants in their natural habitat surrounding the Emerald Pool and you’ll discover why this magical gem gets its name. Next, we are making our way to the village of Salisbury for a unique visit to a Bee Apiary. We will learn all about Bee’s, how they are cared for, how to handle them properly, how to increase their hive populations and how they help us in the production of food and resources. We will learn how they help to create and produce things such as lip balm, candles, deodorant and of course... Honey! Breakfast Included / Lunch Included
Day 3: Eco Farm, River Tubing & Kalinago Village
Today we are visiting an eco-farm that is dedicated to the preservation and sustainability of the forest. This activity is a blend of fun and education of freshly harvested tropical fruits, other foods and farm products. Don’t forget to taste some! Take a few minutes to jump in and cool off in one of the secluded natural river pools after looking for some endemic flora and fauna. Next, we will be gliding down the Pagua River on our inner tubes. On this adventure we will meander down the river listening to the tropical sounds of the rainforest. Don’t forget your water camera because it will be a great photo op. Next, we will be going to Kalinago Territory for lunch. The Kalinago, once referred to as the Caribs, have a deep-rooted history in Dominica. We will learn a bit about their culture, heritage and traditional way of life. We will also learn about Kalinago history in Dominica as we watch traditional methods of basket weaving with Larouma Reeds, baking cassava bread and canoe building. Day 4: Canyoning, Rum Tasting & Warm Mineral Pools
Breakfast will be at a lovely restaurant overlooking the Caribbean Sea before heading to Roseau Valley for our exciting canyoning adventure. Discover your inner adventurer far beneath the sunlit canopy of the rainforest. Don’t Worry, canyoning is for any level of experience, even if you have never done it before, you’ll be in good hands with experienced professional canyoning guides. After half a day of canyoning, we will sit back and relax with a local lunch and a bush rum tasting. We will finish our day in a relaxing warm mineral pool in the village of Wotton Waven, where you will get to enjoy some of the geothermal gifts Dominica has to offer us. It’s a spa day in nature! Day 5: Segment 10 Hike, Permaculture & Milton Falls
The Waitukubuli Trail is made up of 14 segments and today we are hiking segment 10. This segment begins in Colihaut Heights and ends at Syndicate. This makes for a perfect day of hiking in the heavily forested trail where we can spot the Sisserou and Jaco Parrots. Both of the parrots are endemic to Dominica, while the Sisserou (Amazona Imperialis) is on the endangered species list. Later we will go to a special farm that specializes in permaculture. We will learn how it helps in sustainable land management and natural ecosystems that guide farming practices. A perfect ending to this very special day will be an easy walk to view Milton Falls in Syndicate. Breakfast Included / Dinner Included
Day 6: Jaco Steps Hike & Spanny Falls
Step back in time as you walk through Jaco Flats, an encampment of historic importance. This encampment was built by Jaco in order to help lead other escaped slaves to freedom. The Maroons used this area to hide from British soldiers during the mid-18th century. As we descend the hand carved stone steps leading to the river, you will be walking in the footsteps of the Maroons who fought so hard for their freedom. Once you reach the bottom of the steps, jump into the river and admire the beautiful nature around you. Next, we will have lunch before visiting Spanny Falls, an easy-to- access waterfall surrounded by lush vegetation in the heart of the rainforest. Breakfast Included / Lunch Included
Day 7: Kayak, Snorkel & Beach Cookout
We will go south this morning with a scenic drive around the west coast towards the southern tip of Dominica. Scotts Head, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Caribbean Sea, sits over the Soufriere Marine Reserve. This lookout point will give us 360-degree views of the southern mountains, Scotts Head village, the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. Next, we will get ready for our kayaking adventure which will take us to a scenic little beach for a fish cookout and a bit of snorkeling where we can see all the colorful fish. Day 8: Middleham Falls Hike, TiTou Gorge & Trafalgar Falls
Today we will go to the Morne Trois Piton National Park which also happens to be a UNESCO World Heritage site. Lush tropical vegetation surrounds you on this invigorating hike to Middleham Falls. This is the tallest waterfall on the island at an impressive 270 ft. The hike will take us through dense rainforest and muddy trails so be sure to pack your dirtiest hiking shoes. Once at Ti Tou Gorge, you will get a chance to swim in the same location where a part of the movie Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed. Next, we’ll visit Trafalgar Falls, also known as mama & papa falls. The tallest waterfall on the left is “papa” at 125 ft. and the one on the right is “mama” at 75 ft. Take your shoes off and relax in the river before we head back to Picard for dinner. Breakfast Included / Dinner Included
Day 9: Horseback Riding, Explore Portsmouth & Beach
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before going horseback riding! The horses will lead us to Purple Turtle beach before riding into Prince Rupert Bay. The rest of the day will be free to explore Portsmouth, browse for souvenirs, try tasty dishes at nearby restaurants or relax & swim at the beach. Spend your time however you want and enjoy your last day, your way. Later, we will go back to the hotel to get ready for our farewell dinner. Breakfast Included / Dinner Included
Day 10: Goodbye Dominica!
Today concludes our experience together but hopefully you come back soon to enjoy another one of our tours and discover more hidden gems in Dominica! Breakfast Included

CHANGES AND CANCELLATIONS
Changes by Participants
Since changes are considered canceled services, additional cancellation penalties may apply. Changes are subject to additional hotel charges based on availability and may incur additional fees. Changes to airfare are subject to the carrier’s Terms and Conditions and are not the obligation of FFCT.
If you are unable to complete the tour due to an inability to maintain the speed necessary to keep up with the tour group of participants, or due to any physical limitation, there shall be no refunds owed if you are unable or prevented from completing the tour.
Cancellation
As described above, FFCT is required to pay certain suppliers well in advance of your tour date. This includes but is not limited to hotel accommodations, meals, entrance fees, transportation, etc. All suppliers have their own cancellation policies, which apply to your booking. Should a cancellation become necessary, please inform FFCT immediately in writing and request a written confirmation of your cancellation. Upon receipt, FFCT will follow industry procedures for any applicable refunds as outlined in the supplier’s terms and conditions and subject to their review. If you are entitled to a refund, please note that the supplier is responsible for this refund, not FFCT. Likewise, we are not responsible for a supplier’s failure to pay a refund, their insolvency or bankruptcy.
In addition to the terms of our suppliers, refunds for any monies paid to FFCT will be refundable for cancellations per the cancellation table below, less any non-refundable payments/deposits made by FFCT to our Suppliers. Also deducted from the net refundable amount will be any adjustments for room rate changes created by the cancellation (i.e., double to single, etc.) NO REFUNDS, for any reason will be paid for cancellations received 45 days or less from the departure date.
Since FFCT will pay certain deposits and costs to suppliers prior to the date of travel, FFCT will assess the following cancellation charges as follows:

If the reason for cancellation is covered under the terms of your travel protection plan you may be able to reclaim these charges, for this reason FFCT requires the purchase of a travel protection plan including additional “cancel for any reason” coverage.
Airline tickets are governed by the air carriers’ terms, and we are not responsible for any air carrier’s decision regarding refund.
Cancellation or Changes by FFCT
We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule any departure for any reason. If we cancel, except in the case of a force majeure event, we will offer alternate arrangements. We may at our sole discretion offer travel vouchers or refunds in accordance with the cancellation schedule above. Participants are responsible for any additional costs for air tickets or other travel arrangements not made by us.
If between planning time and/or during actual travel, circumstances require changes, FFCT and its suppliers, reserve the right to cancel or vary any itinerary and substitute components of any tour, including but not limited to hotels and accommodations of comparable quality, if air schedule or surface transportation charges, security matters, and/or other events make such alterations necessary. Suppliers may substitute transportation equipment depending on any variety of factors, including the volume of passengers on the tour. FFCT cannot be held responsible for any closures, necessary itinerary changes, or curtails for any reason. These changes will not be considered material changes and will not be considered cause for cancellation by the participant. Normal cancellation penalties still apply to the tour that has been changed.
NO REFUND FOR UNUSED ARRANGEMENTS. As FFCT prices are based on contract rates, there will not be any refund for any unused portion of a travel booking. If you cancel while the tour is in progress, there is no refund for the unused portion.
